St. Johns County Fire Rescue personnel work to extinguish fires emerging from within a large pile of smoldering debris at North Oak Recycling wood processing facility on Dobbs Road on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. Firefighters had made numerous visits to the site since Friday as the fire burning deep within pile of vegetative debris kept working itself to the surface. Those working at the scene on Tuesday were able to split the large pile so the non-burning debris could be hauled off and firefighters could continue working to keep the fire contained in the remaining pile.
